It’s never too early to look at the draft prospects for next year, and the 2020 NFL Draft has some intriguing prospects to be sure. Here are five prospects the San Francisco 49ers may want to keep close tabs on throughout the season.

If there’s one thing I love, it’s the NFL Draft and the kind of players that would make excellent San Francisco 49ers of the future.

Some may argue it’s way too early to look at the draft. After all, the current crop of Niners rookies have only seen the practice field so far in their pro careers.

But to that, I say it’s never too early to look at potential talent for the 49ers.

Sure, it’s too early to make definite comparisons to the next draft crop, compared to the draft just gone (as prospects will rise and fall, sometimes drastically).

But if we look at it through the glasses of right now (and we may return to this article down the line to see how accurate this holds up), this upcoming draft seems to have more offensive weapons, offensive linemen and defensive backs at the top end of the draft prospect list.

This suits the 49ers just fine. After using their time to aggressively upgrade the defensive line, as well as finding more offensive weapons for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, the secondary as well as the offensive line are the two biggest areas of concern.

No matter what happens this season, there should be a nice prospect to upgrade one of those positions in the first round.

Here are five potential prospects the Niners should be keeping a close eye on.
