Niner Noise looks around the league to see which quarterbacks will be on the proverbial NFL hot seat this season. Here are five under the pressure entering 2019.

The San Francisco 49ers are pretty lucky quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo isn’t on the NFL hot seat entering the upcoming 2019 season.

He’s under pressure, yes. Namely to bounce back from his 2018 ACL tear and to live up to what was a lofty and then-record-setting five-year, $137.5 million contract he signed early in the year.

Barring a complete meltdown, however, Jimmy G doesn’t have to worry too much about losing a job or roster spot anytime soon.

There are plenty of other signal-callers around the league who enter the year sitting on that proverbial NFL hot seat, though.

In some cases, it’s the age-old story of the veteran trying to stave off a rookie upstart. In others, lackluster play and underwhelming performances could be the cause for hot-seat placement. With the NFL being such a “what have you done for me lately?” league, bouncing back and performing to expected levels is essential to continued success.

It might be easy to say New York Giants veteran quarterback Eli Manning is on the hot seat, particularly after the team selected Duke’s Daniel Jones with their first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. But Manning is going to ride off into the sunset sooner than later, meaning he’s essentially playing with house money during the G-Men’s rebuild.

So, which other quarterbacks are squarely on the NFL hot seat entering 2019?

Here are five who could be feeling the heat this season.
