When you think your team has enough pass-rushers, it’s always a good idea to add another.

The 49ers spent considerable effort improving their pass rush in 2019 by trading for former Kansas City Chiefs EDGE Dee Ford, then grabbing Ohio State’s Nick Bosa with the No. 2 overall pick in last year’s NFL Draft.

Yet there are going to be some question marks about edge-rushing depth behind those two. And getting supplementary and situational pass-rushers is never a bad choice.

Utah’s Bradlee Anae managed 14.5 sacks the past two seasons, and he has a good variety of pass-rush moves to suggest he could have some success in the right system at the NFL level. While he’s not particularly agile or fast, and shouldn’t be counted on in run defense, Anae does have the skill to be an outside disruptor and could be a piece to back up either Ford or Bosa on game day.
