It’s far too soon to start dishing out San Francisco 49ers mock NFL Drafts, right? And the 2020 edition is just shy of one year away. Correction: It’s less than a year away, so we need to plan now!

OK, it’s kind of silly to start dishing out mocks for the San Francisco 49ers in the 2020 NFL Draft. After all, the Niners just completed their 2019 draft class and are working hard to integrate their picks into the team ahead of what’s going to be an intriguing regular season.

But Niner Noise enjoys silly exercises, of course, and it’s never too early to start thinking of what the team might do in next year’s NFL Draft.

Of course, there are plenty of X-factors. Yet we can come up with what will likely be a few of San Francisco’s top needs during the 2020 offseason. We can also assume the 49ers won’t be overly aggressive in free agency next year, too, considering a number of key players will be up for contract extensions and/or re-sign possibilities.

Simply put, the Niners probably aren’t going to be in the top five in cap space entering 2020.

That puts more pressure on general manager John Lynch and Co. to hit on some good draft selections. Currently, the 49ers own the following picks:

  1. Round 1
  2. Round 3
  3. Round 4
  4. Round 5
  5. Round 6
  6. Round 7
  7. Round 7 (from Detroit Lions)

San Francisco sent off its 2020 second-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for EDGE Dee Ford, also picking up a seventh rounder from the Detroit Lions in exchange for outside linebacker Eli Harold.

To mock this 2020 NFL Draft out, we’ll use our trusty FanSpeak draft widget and let them determine where in the order the 49ers select. And we won’t get carried away with trades, either.

Seriously, it’s too early to think about draft-day trades.

OK, let’s flash forward to Las Vegas, Nevada, and the San Francisco 49ers are on the clock with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

No. 9, FanSpeak? Really?
