Best to Take Home to Parents: Nick Mullens

Like I mentioned before, John Lynch brings in a lot of genuinely good people into the locker room, so this was a hard one. Runner-ups would have to be the classic “nice guys,” such as wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, defensive end Solomon Thomas, offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey, and wide receiver Trent Taylor, but quarterback Nick Mullens takes the cake here.

Mullens oozes realness. He’s a hard worker who worked his way up to being the 49ers’ starter at quarterback in 2018 for eight games, and you just cannot help but love the guy when you watch him on and off the field.

This postgame interview with Erin Andrews after Mullens’ first start in Week 9 last year, which was a huge win over the 49ers’ local rival Oakland Raiders, tells everything you need to know why Mullens wins this award:

Yup. That’s someone you want around your parents.
