Last year, the San Francisco 49ers were stifled by injuries and sophomore slumps. There are plenty of candidates to bounce back for this upcoming season, as the team attempts to put itself into playoff contention.

A key theme for the San Francisco 49ers this season will be comebacks.

Can the team make a comeback to the playoff ranks? Can they come back from what was a disappointing season littered by injuries and regression? And can those injured and regressed players make a comeback to get the team firing on all fronts?

In this article, we look at the latter.

If there was one constant from last season, it was the year was cursed from the injury gods. If there was a second constant, it was that some players could not replicate some good performances from the 2017 season, especially when it came to sophomore slumps.

There’s some optimism for this year. The team has undoubtedly got a lot more talent on it for this season, and the new acquisitions from both free agency and the 2019 NFL Draft are cause for excitement.

But for San Francisco to reach its top potential, the players who took a back seat for whatever reason have to recover the magic they had, previously.

Here are five players to look out for to rebound in 2019.
