Regrading the 49ers’ 2018 NFL Draft class after one year

If these grades included players’ efforts from the preseason, Temple defensive tackle Jullian Taylor would have easily received an A-grade.
Taylor flashed a lot of promise during these exhibition contests, which certainly helped earn him a spot on the 49ers’ 53-man roster in 2018. But despite seeing action in six regular-season contests, the Niners scantly used Taylor over the course of his rookie year. He saw just 101 defensive snaps — a mere 9.41 percent of snaps in this category.
At least Taylor registered a quarterback hit during those limited chances, though.
Taylor does have a lot of upside, fortunately. And while he’s raw, needing refinement, he’ll have a good chance to compete for a key backup job this season.
For now, there haven’t been a lot of returns. At least not in the regular season.
