For Arkansas linebacker Dre Greenlaw, the question about him is a simple one: Can he be the third guy alongside fellow inside backers Fred Warner and Kwon Alexander?

We won’t know for a while yet, but Greenlaw has landed in a good situation where there is a wide open spot next to Warner and Alexander for the taking.

The 49ers have hit big on late picks before in the last few years, so Greenlaw has every opportunity to at worse be a backup, who could potentially be groomed into a starter.

There’s a good story about Greenlaw, which came out after the draft. So he promises to be a popular player. However, popularity doesn’t determine if one makes an impact.

However, for Greenlaw, I see him being a backup for his rookie year who will see snaps and make some plays.
