Discuss the 2019 NFL Draft with Niner Noise writers and fans as we grade each of the San Francisco 49ers’ draft picks over all seven rounds.

Months of speculation and waiting came to a close, finally, when the 2019 NFL Draft officially kicked off on Thursday, April 25 from Nashville, Tennessee.

The San Francisco 49ers were slated to select with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft. And while there was been no shortage of rumors about what the teams ahead and behind the Niners would do in Round 1, general manager John Lynch and Co. only needed a handful of options with the second overall selection.

The No. 2 overall pick was the first of six San Francisco had at its disposal entering the draft. Here’s the breakdown of the 49ers’ total selections, currently:

  1. Round 1, No. 2 Overall
  2. Round 2, No. 36 Overall
  3. Round 3, No. 67 Overall
  4. Round 4, No. 110 Overall (from Bengals)
  5. Round 5, No. 148 Overall (from Broncos)
  6. Round 6, No. 176 Overall
  7. Round 6, No. 183 Overall (from Bengals)
  8. Round 6, No. 198 Overall (from Bengals)

Lynch made a flurry of draft-day trades back in 2017, followed by three in last year’s NFL Draft. It’s possible, perhaps likely, the Niners wind up engineering some sort of trade again this year.

We’ll see.
