San Francisco 49ers NFL Draft history: Best player taken in each round

With the 2019 NFL Draft just around the corner, Niner Noise looks back at some of the best players the San Francisco 49ers have drafted and compiles them all in a round-by-round mock-like scenario for your enjoyment.
The San Francisco 49ers have drafted more than a handful of special players during their storied history.
And with the 2019 NFL Draft just hours away, Niner Noise looks back at some of the greatest Niners of all time and presents them in a mock draft, of sorts — the best player selected in each round of previous NFL Drafts of yesteryear.
A number of them are first-round talents, which makes the final slide on our mock a little challenging. There are simply too many 49ers greats from which to choose.
Yet there are also a number of mid- to late-round selections who wound up being great players, too.
Many of those will be on this list as well.
Looking back at 70-plus years of Niners history, let’s compile a seven-round NFL Draft selecting the top 49ers player taken in each round.
And let’s hope the 2019 draft provides a player, or two, who might be added to this list a ways down the road.
