No. 1: Denver Broncos

Speaking of relationships and trade rapports, the 49ers and Denver Broncos could easily make a Round 1 deal.

John Lynch and Broncos general manager John Elway already have a working relationship, one which has sparked trades already and will likely do so again. This time, it would likely involve Denver’s eventual need for a quarterback — something Elway has repeatedly tried to address, yet with less-than-stellar results.

Yes, the Broncos acquired veteran signal-caller Joe Flacco from the Baltimore Ravens during the offseason. But like the case with Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Dolphins, Flacco is nothing more than a stopgap. Elway will be looking again in this year’s Draft.

Currently, Denver owns the No. 10 overall pick — the first of eight selections in 2018. Elway will likely have to dip into his stockpile of picks in 2020 to make any serious deal work. But don’t underestimate the relationship between the two.

Interestingly enough, Lynch’s aforementioned trade-down comments suggested moving down to No. 10 overall.

Right where Denver is slated to pick. A small reveal from Lynch, perhaps?
