Stock up: J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Wide Receiver, Stanford

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside ticks the boxes the 49ers are no doubt looking for as they seek a mismatch wide receiver prospect for the next level.

At 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, Arcega-Whiteside has the ability to beat defenders in press coverage, and has the college production to back up his physical talents.

In a top-heavy receiver class, teams won’t be looking for receivers that can do it all, but instead are specialists in certain areas. Your route runners, your red-zone specialists, etc.

As a result of his abilities and a weaker receiver class, we have seen Arcega-Whiteside climb steadily into Round 2 consideration, as well as an invite to the 49ers local pro day according to 49ers.com’s Joe Fann:

Arcega-Whiteside has come from deep within an underwhelming wide receiver class to be a day-two selection, and one the Niners have to consider.
