If HBO had to recast its hit series, Game of Thrones, using only San Francisco 49ers players and staff, who would be the equivalents and comparables? Well, here you go!

Season 8 of HBO’s hit series, Game of Thrones, officially debuts on Sunday, April 14, and it’s certainly generated all the necessary hype and buzz amid GoT fans eagerly awaiting the pressing questions about who ends up sitting on the Iron Throne, who wins the war between the living and the dead and just how far Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen’s relationship will carry them.

Oh, and who will end up surviving Season 8? In case you haven’t watched the series, let’s just say no one is ever safe.

This is a San Francisco 49ers site, however, and Niner Noise can’t spend an entire article or slideshow dishing out predictions and insight on how GoT will pan out over its final season. We’ve got to incorporate the Niners somehow, right?

Well, don’t worry. That’s what we’ll do right here.

Of course, we’ve done something like this before. Back in 2016, Niner Noise had a fun comparison with players from that squad and their GoT equivalents. Case in point, former 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman was the perfect fit for Jon Snow.

But, a lot like the show, more than a few names have met their fate and are no longer a part of the current landscape. Other characters have taken their place, although there are still a few holdovers.

We’ll dive into those, too.

So, while the vast majority of 49ers focus is currently centered on the team’s pending actions in the NFL Draft later this month, let’s have a bit of fun and line up members of the Niners staff and their equivalents on HBO’s epic series.
