Quarterback. Missouri. Drew Lock. 5. player. 45.

OK, now things start to get interesting.

There’s already been a mini run on quarterbacks within the first few picks of the NFL Draft, leaving Missouri’s Drew Lock as the only other bona fide Round 1 option available.

Start your bidding wars, everyone.

The Buccaneers don’t necessarily need a quarterback, especially after committing to Jameis Winston for at least another year. And while the Denver Broncos just landed veteran QB Joe Flacco, they’re also intrigued by Lock, according to Denver’s 9News’ Mike Klis.

The problem, though, is so are the Giants who are set to pick at No. 6 overall.

If Broncos general manager John Elway is viewing Lock as the guy, there’s little chance the prospective quarterback slips all the way to No. 10 overall. Especially if Giants general manager Dave Gettleman is intent on grabbing a quarterback, therefore avoiding the same non-QB top pick he made a year ago when he landed running back Saquon Barkley.

As such, Denver passes over New York in a move up with the Bucs, dishing out a number of the eight picks it has in this year’s draft, along with some 2020 capital, too.

The Broncos get their guy in Lock, and the Giants are left behind in yet another woeful situation.
