No. 4: Linebacker Mack Wilson

Even with the signing of linebacker Kwon Alexander, the 49ers may look to the draft to help supplement the position. With Alexander and linebacker Fred Warner the only two locked in starters, adding another talented player into the mix wouldn’t be a bad option.

If the Niners were to select a linebacker in the second round, it would be a fair bet that Mack Wilson out of Alabama would be atop their list.

At 6-foot-2 and 239 pounds, Wilson brings good size and weight to the position. He had a combined 65 tackles for his junior year, including 4.5 for a loss and one sack. He also had two interceptions and five pass deflections.

With Wilson having four interceptions the year prior, he is capable of making plays and turning the ball over, something the 49ers will be looking to improve upon this coming season. He is most proficient while in zone coverage, while capable of lining up against running backs and tight ends.

While Wilson brings a great physicality with him, he can at times be inconsistent with his tackling and blocking efficiency. However, while he does have some flaws, he brings with him enough speed to cover from sideline to sideline, a trait that is highly desirable.
