San Francisco 49ers: Post-free agency 2019 NFL Draft mock
By Peter Panacy
With the opening wave of NFL free agency complete, Niner Noise dishes out a new mock NFL Draft for the San Francisco 49ers predicting what they might do in 2019.
The San Francisco 49ers solved two major needs for their roster via NFL free agency.
Well, one through free agency (linebacker Kwon Alexander) and another through a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs (EDGE Dee Ford).
Other moves, such as grabbing cornerback Jason Verrett and wide receiver Jordan Matthews on one-year deals, alleviate some of the more pressing needs the Niners have.
At least for now.
Yet general manager John Lynch and Co. still have more than a few holes to fill. Players like Verrett and Matthews help with the short term. But it wouldn’t be shocking if both wide receiver and cornerback remain on San Francisco’s big board for the 2019 NFL Draft.
Speaking of that, the 49ers own the No. 2 pick overall. That’s the first of six picks at Lynch’s disposal. Assuming he doesn’t trade down, he’ll likely select one of three top prospects: Ohio State EDGE Nick Bosa, Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams or Kentucky EDGE Josh Allen.
With NFL free agency now underway, and the Niners already making a number of moves, Niner Noise dishes out another mock draft pegging all six of San Francisco’s choices.
There are some differences from the last mock we ran shortly after the NFL Scouting Combine. This mock won’t have trades, although it will feature more of what the Niners likely wind up doing. Not so much what we’d do, so to speak.
Using our trusty FanSpeak draft tool, let’s get started. The 49ers are now on the clock.
