So much for the concerns Nick Bosa wouldn’t be quite up to snuff after suffering an abdominal injury his final season at Ohio State.

Bosa’s combine workouts were outstanding, and his 40-yard dash time of 4.84 was exceptional:

Straight-line speed is important for an edge rusher, sure. But one could argue his three-cone drills and shuttle times were more important.

Fortunately, Bosa excelled here, too. And for those thinking Kentucky EDGE Josh Allen is the better pick at No. 2, just consider this comparison from The Athletic’s Matt Barrows:

If the Cardinals end up taking Murray, it’s a shoo-in selection for San Francisco. Bosa is an immediate upgrade over any outside edge rusher the defense currently has. Considering how the 49ers ended up being tied at 22nd in sacks last season with 37, seeing how a player like Bosa can help out this unit is pretty straightforward.

Plus, he’d immediately help turn a Niners defensive line comprised of former first-round draft picks into a serious force for the upcoming season and beyond.
