2019 NFL Draft: Two-round, 32-team mock amid scouting combine
By Peter Panacy
Pick a spot on the Oakland Raiders defense, and there’s a good chance it could stand an upgrade.
Thankfully, the 2019 NFL Draft is laden with defensive prospects and the Raiders have three first-round selections from which to address these needs.
The NFL Scouting Combine will shake up how some of the second-tier pass-rushers stand leading up to draft day. For now, however, look for Oakland to table some of those needs until later in Round 1.
While deep, relatively, this year’s linebacking class isn’t quite as rich as the defensive line. And one could make the argument LSU linebacker Devin White is the No. 4 overall prospect in this year’s class anyway.
White is a wonderful prospect, showcasing excellent instincts, sideline-to-sideline skills, coverage abilities and even interior pass-rushing traits. He’d immediately improve the middle of the Raiders defense, which is a top need.
Look for Oakland to grab a pass-rusher and a defensive back later in the round.
