49. . EDGE. Florida. Jachai Polite. 30. player

The Packers are still in need of a safety, but the pass rush is going to be more pressing a need. And if Florida EDGE Jachai Polite falls all the way down towards the end of Round 1, Green Bay would be getting an absolute steal.

It’s hard to say if Polite makes it that far. He could be the best pure pass-rusher in this year’s NFL Draft, and his NFL Scouting Combine performance could easily showcase the agility and closing speed that made him such a riser within the collegiate ranks.

According to this mock, however, Polite falls as the draft pans out how it does up to this point. Good for Green Bay.

Polite isn’t much of a run defender, and his undersized frame probably will keep him solely in sub packages for the first few years of his career.

But that has plenty of value for a Packers team that will likely be engaged in a lot of shootouts as long as quarterback Aaron Rodgers is under center.
