2019 NFL Draft: Two-round, 32-team mock amid scouting combine
By Peter Panacy
The Indianapolis Colts’ turnaround in 2018 was exciting to watch, and general manager Chris Ballard deserves a ton of credit for getting this whole thing back on track.
The Colts defense has taken massive strides, too, but it’s far from a complete unit. One could make the argument the defensive front needs a couple of reinforcements from this year’s NFL Draft, so a player to watch here is Clemson defensive lineman Christian Wilkins.
Clemson’s defensive line was pretty amazing over the course of 2018, and one could make the argument Wilkins was nearly on par with his pass-rushing teammate, Clelin Ferrell.
Wilkins’ stock isn’t as high, of course, although the gap could close a bit at the NFL Scouting Combine.
What makes Wilkins a great piece is the combination of his versatility, run-blocking skills and ability to rush the passer from the inside. That’s the kind of player Indy can build around up front moving forward.
