2019 NFL Draft: Two-round, 32-team mock amid scouting combine
By Peter Panacy
Like the Vikings and Texans before them, the Philadelphia Eagles don’t have a ton of pressing needs heading into 2019. But the ones that are there are pretty glaring.
Perhaps the biggest area of concern for Philly is within the secondary, particularly at cornerback. There are a few top safeties on the boards right now, but this mock is seeing those players fall. The Eagles could go that route, but it appears as if Washington corner Byron Murphy would be a smarter choice.
Murphy looks the part of an Eagles cornerback, too. And while his 5-foot-11 frame isn’t necessarily tailored for boundary duties, Murphy plays much bigger than his size would suggest. Plus he has excellent ballhawking skills, too, which would greatly assist an Eagles secondary in need of some playmaking abilities.
