2019 NFL Draft: Two-round, 32-team mock amid scouting combine
By Peter Panacy
All signs are pointing to the Miami Dolphins moving on from quarterback Ryan Tannehill this offseason, and unfortunately it’s a bad year to need a signal-caller in the NFL Draft.
Trading up would be ideal for Miami. Since this mock doesn’t have trades, though, the pick has to be where it’s at.
There are some mocks and big boards listing Duke quarterback Daniel Jones in Round 1, sometimes even relatively early. Since there has already been a mini run on quarterbacks, however, the Dolphins are pressed into making the selection to replace Tannehill.
Fortunately, Jones’ 6-foot-5 frame and pro-ready attributes suggest he’ll be able to develop into something useful at the NFL level.
The Dolphins need that badly amid this rebuild.
