With the San Francisco 49ers holding limited picks in the NFL Draft, they’re going to have to pay extra close attention during the upcoming 2019 NFL Scouting Combine. Niner Noise takes a look at several day-three players the San Francisco 49ers may look to add to their roster.

Every year, the NFL Scouting Combine provides teams the opportunity to take a closer look at potential rookies prior to draft day. The San Francisco 49ers are in need of players across the board, so this year’s NFL Draft is more important than ever for the head honchos to get right.

The Niners will need to decide who is the best fit to wear the red and gold and where they priorities lie, in regards to recruiting players who fill a need within the team. While some positions will likely be filled during free agency, others will come via the draft. And with limited picks this year, unless some trading of picks occurs, the 49ers need to be choosy about who they select.

Days one and two of the draft should cover the Niners’ needs at EDGE, cornerback and wide receiver, leaving day three for them to pick up the remainder of what they consider essential. With plenty of depth dropping right back to the later rounds, there are lots of options for the 49ers to contemplate.

It’s likely a good chunk of the Niners’ picks will be made up of defensive players, this being their biggest need to fill during the offseason. However, a pick or two for the offense wouldn’t hurt either. As well as a shiny new wide receiver, is adding another tight end to the mix completely out of the question?

With the success head coach Kyle Shanahan enjoyed utilizing tight end George Kittle in 2018, it’s entirely possible he decides to go with a dual threat in 2019, adding another tight end who is also a capable receiver.

With players ranging from linebacker to the offensive line, lets take a look at some the 49ers should keep an eye on at the combine to fulfill their day-three needs.
