For the Patriots, their starting corners both came from free agency. The Rams got their starting left tackle, defensive tackle, entire corners and more from free agency as well.
The 49ers are set in an envious position with oodles of cap space and the second overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, where they could get Ohio State EDGE Nick Bosa or many others, as I detailed a while ago.
If the Super Bowl taught San Francisco anything, it is that a team can be built up ready to compete through the strangest and quickest of ways. Although the end result was a win for the Patriots dynasty, the overall development of the league paints a good picture for the 49ers.
They will need to put in the work and money to do so, but the future for the 49ers will be very bright.
