Denver Broncos. 26. team. 45. . 6-10 record.

One of the big things keeping the underperforming Denver Broncos from falling any further in our NFL power rankings to close out the season is the fact they’re putting together an awfully good coaching staff.

Yes, former 49ers and Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is finally getting his head coaching gig. And Broncos fans will be intrigued by former 49ers quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello as offensive coordinator, while former defensive backs coach Ed Donatell has a long history of successful secondaries.

But the Broncos still hurt for talent, namely at quarterback where Case Keenum hasn’t carried over the magic he enjoyed with the Minnesota Vikings back in 2017.

Wide receiver is a need, too, and Denver’s offensive line is still nowhere close to where it needs to be.

At least the Broncos started the year off right, working from the top down.
