More head coaching changes affect where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stand. The main difference, however, is the fact newly minted Bucs head coach Bruce Arians has successful coaching experience at the NFL level.

That gives the Buccaneers a bit more of a boost in NFL power rankings, but the situation in Tampa Bay is far from ideal.

It all starts up front, of course, with the Bucs electing to give quarterback Jameis Winston one more year under center. It’s anyone’s guess whether or not that move will backfire. But at least the Buccaneers offense proved effective for much of 2018.

Although a good chunk of those stats came with No. 2 quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick under center.

Defensively, the Buccaneers are a mess at all three levels. They need help in the pass-rush department, could use some good coverage linebackers and recent investments within the secondary haven’t panned out.

It’ll be a long, important offseason for Tampa Bay.
