Like the Panthers, the future beyond 2019 remains uncertain for Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn.

Since the Falcons’ appearance in the Super Bowl in 2017, things have gone slowly in the wrong direction and on both sides of the ball. Offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian’s efforts weren’t good, and the results showed.

But that wasn’t the biggest problem in Atlanta. Instead, the Falcons defense suffered the most, both from inadequate production and a terrible injury attrition rate. All that led to this unit being ranked 25th in points against while giving up the fifth most total yards in 2018.

Even if this unit returns fully healthy in 2019, the Falcons will need to make some serious additions and upgrades this offseason.

It won’t be easy, considering the NFC South remains one of the toughest divisions in football.
