No. 2: Joe Montana to John Taylor for the win

If “The Drive” was a great moment in 49ers franchise history, the game-winning catch of that drive has to be the best moment within that moment.

One of the most iconic plays in Super Bowl history, the culmination of the drive that started on the Niners’ own 8-yard line with just over three minutes on the clock.

Joe Montana found John Taylor for 10 yards, a touchdown, his only reception of the game, to cap the franchise’s third championship in seven years. San Francisco would go on to win that storied contest 20-16. And while Jerry Rice deservedly received game MVP honors, fans will always remember Montana hitting Taylor for that memorable score to seal the deal.
