48. . Cornerback. LSU. Greedy Williams. 5. player

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are sticking with quarterback Jameis Winston for another season. It’s anyone’s guess whether or not that move will be the right one, especially with a thin quarterback NFL Draft class and the No. 5 overall pick for Tampa Bay.

But it’s a gamble the Bucs can afford to take, particularly with just how bad their defense was in 2018.

Tampa Bay needs help at a number of levels. Yet the number of failed investments the team has made within the secondary over the past few seasons needs to be rectified.

So, why not grab the best cornerback in this year’s draft?

That player would be LSU’s Greedy Williams, whose eight collegiate interceptions over two seasons should be a massive boost to a Buccaneers team that generated only nine picks over the course of 2018.

LSU is a great school for producing quality defensive backs anyway, so this is an investment the Buccaneers shouldn’t hesitate to make.
