EDGE. Louisiana Tech. Jaylon Ferguson. 30. player. 49.

Ideally, the Packers would have loved to see Brian Burns fall another spot to them at No. 30. But after taking Deionte Thompson with their first pick in the Round, Green Bay settles for what it can get and grabs Louisiana Tech EDGE Jaylon Ferguson.

Ferguson’s 17.5 sacks in 2018 stands out on paper more than Burns’ 10.0. But those are just numbers. Burns is a bit more polished as a pass-rusher, who has seen his stock rise.

Ferguson, meanwhile, still remains on the fringes between Rounds 1 and 2.

That said, Ferguson is still explosive enough. And while he lacks the bend and agility, Ferguson’s hand usage is pretty top notch.

The Packers need that kind of work to get better, defensively.
