No. 4: Terrell Suggs

OK, OK. We all know that the 49ers need pass-rush help. There is no doubt in my mind the Niners front office will aggressively confront this problem.

Terrell Suggs is a great player. With 132 sacks in his career and counting, the former Defensive Player of the Year is a Hall of Famer. The Niners need to avoid him like the four at the bar that’s an eight at last call.

Suggs is a great player. If the Niners were coming off a 12 -4 season and a playoff victory, adding a guy like Suggs for a season may even make some sense.

The problem is the 49ers went 4-12.

Suggs is 36 years old. He has had multiple career-threatening injuries. Although he has always made amazing comebacks from those injuries, there isn’t much tread left on the tire. With the number of miles the Niners have to travel before they are competitive, it’s best they try to find a new set of tires instead.
