49ers: 5 linebackers for San Francisco to select in the 2019 NFL Draft
No. 3: Jordan Jones
Jordan Jones out of Kentucky comes in at 6-foot-2, and 218 pounds. He saw good production during his college years, with his best season coming when he was a sophomore. Although he saw a drop in productivity from his sophomore year, Jones put together reasonable back-to-back years as a junior and senior.
He finished 2018 with a combined 68 tackles, including 5.5 for a loss. Jones also recorded 1.5 sacks, along with his four pass deflections and one fumble recovery.
The Draft Network had this to say:
"Uber-aggressive mindset. Wants to play in the other team’s backyard. Triggers downhill at the first sign of a key. Brings it as a blitzer and will work to get off blocks. Ideal length, size and frame for the position. Solid mental processor who won’t make a lot of assignment errors. Motor always runs hot. Plays with great natural bend and feet that are always active, making him tough to pin down cleanly at the second level."
With Kentucky EDGE Josh Allen becoming a real possibility for the San Francisco 49ers at pick No. 2 in the 2019 NFL Draft, Jones is a player the Niners may look to add in order to complement their new top edge rusher.
