No. 8: Super Bowl XXIX vs. San Diego Chargers

In 1994, the 49ers finished the season with the best record (13-3) and were the highest-scoring team in the NFL (505 points). After coming off two consecutive devastating losses in the NFC Championship game to the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco had splashed with acquiring several free agents to help the team get over the hump.

It took the Niners just 84 seconds to score the opening touchdown, and from there it was the Steve Young show, and he finally buried the shadow of his predecessor, Joe Montana.

The 49ers offense played like a finely tuned orchestra, with all the offensive parts playing their part to perfection. The offense finished with 455 total yards, and Young went 24-of-46 for 325 yards and a Super Bowl-record six passing touchdowns and also had the most rushing yards in the game with 49.

Young won the Super Bowl MVP award.

This was one of the most dominant Super Bowl victories of all time, and was the team’s fifth Super Bowl trophy, which was an NFL record at the time.

This memorable game was an easy choice for this top 10 list.
