2. Drew Lewis, Linebacker, Colorado

The 49ers have their future leader on defense in Fred Warner, who already holds the team’s defensive playcalling responsibilities, but the linebacker position is still one of intense need for San Francisco.

The 49ers already hit on a linebacker in the third round of last year’s draft and they could consider Drew Lewis to partner with Warner after his very strong week.

Lewis has three-down potential as a linebacker at the professional level. He’s adept in coverage and can hit well, and also shows some underrated ability to work in blitz packages.

He shows his chops in the passing game as well, with an impressive seven pass deflections over his college career. Lewis could be a very nice value pick on the last day of the 2019 NFL Draft, and a player who could be an instant starter and an upgrade at the linebacker position for San Francisco.
