5 top wide receivers available to the 49ers in the 2019 NFL Draft
No. 2: D.K. Metcalf
D.K. Metcalf out of Ole Miss doesn’t have the production value of his predecessors, however again brings great size coming in at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds.
He recorded 569 receiving yards from 26 receptions and five touchdowns in 2018. Metcalf has a great record when it comes to his average yards per reception, with 21.9 yards.
The Draft Network scouting report:
"D.K. Metcalf enters the 2019 NFL Draft as a rare prospect, his blend of physicality and explosiveness have the ability to develop into a game-changing WR. Metcalf projects favorably to just about any system, he’s fluid enough to run hard angled routes and big enough to win in the red zone. Metcalf offers vertical explosiveness as well. An early starter just scratching the surface of how good he can really be."
Metcalf’s physicality and explosiveness along with his ability to be a plug and play receiver will help to bolster his draft prospects. The addition of being a red-zone threat will no doubt make him a serious pick to consider.
