San Francisco 49ers: Power ranking the top 30 players of 2018
By Aaron Tan
After waiting four years for defensive end Arik Armstead to break out, we finally got it to happen this year.
Armstead enjoyed his first NFL season without injury since his rookie 2015 campaign and had his most productive year yet. He was a beast stuffing the run and added three sacks to his pass-rushing resume.
Since the 49ers would not be able to get much for Armstead if they were to trade him, the team would be smart to retain the ex-Oregon Duck. He has developed into a fine player and will have a great professional career if he stays healthy.
The supposed bust should be a key piece of the 49ers’ defensive line for years to come.
