. . . Offensive Guard Mike Person. 14. team. 42

Starting right guard Mike Person has been the surprise of the 49ers’ season. When the NFL journeyman was signed in free agency in 2018, most people thought it would be merely a depth signing. However, Person started all 16 games for the team at right guard and excelled at opening up lanes for the run game.

He also did a solid job at protecting the quarterback as well. His impressive performance this season earned him a satisfying 67.2 grade from Pro Football Focus.

Person is slated to become a free agent in the offseason, but the 49ers should make a strong effort to re-sign him. He does not carry a lot of upside for the team’s future at 30 years old, but he is a more than capable player to hold everything together before the team finds a young franchise guard.
