C+. . Linebacker. 49ers. FRED WARNER

Like Tarvarius Moore, linebacker Fred Warner also had his share of up-and-down plays over the course of Sunday’s game.

Warner wasn’t quite the tackling machine he usually has been down the stretch, registering just four on the game in total. That said, he did provide excellent underneath coverage on a pass attempt intended for Bears tight end Adam Shaheen, which was broken up by safety Antone Exum. Warner didn’t get the credit for the pass breakup. But his presence forced Trubisky to throw a bit higher than he would have liked, allowing Exum to get in there and make a play.

The only thing keeping Warner from earning a good grade from Week 16 was a crucial defensive holding call that negated a would-be red-zone interception by nickel cornerback K’Waun Williams.

Anthony Miller would score his touchdown three plays later, meaning Warner’s hold proved to be costly when considering the game’s eventual outcome.
