No. 2: Robbie Gould continues to show his worth

Much like when the 49ers and Bears last met, the Niners’ only points from Sunday’s game would come in the form of three field goals from old faithful Robbie Gould, the longest from 33 yards. He has continued to be one of the league’s most accurate and reliable kickers, having completed 68 of his 71 field goal attempts since signing with the 49ers.

This season he has a 96.7 percent kicking average with his longest field goal coming from 53 yards.

Gould will be a free agent at the conclusion of the 2018 season. It would have to come as a surprise if the 49ers do not offer him another contract, with Shanahan himself previously saying he would love to have him back. It’s not every day you find a kicker with Gould’s skills and reliability. You just have to look at the high turnover rate of kickers in the NFL.

Gould is also up for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for his continued charity work among the community.
