No. 4: Deforest Buckner continues his dominance

Defensive tackle Deforest Buckner has held the defense together this year. While a large majority of the defense has struggled at times, Buckner has continued to hold strong and provide that push the team needs.

With his explosiveness and penetration off the line, he leads the 49ers in sacks with 11 for the season, picking up two more sacks Sunday against Russell Wilson. Buckner has now surpassed his total number of nine sacks for the combined 2016/2017 seasons.

Buckner had a standout game, leading the 49ers defense on the stat sheet. He had a total of 11 tackles including four for a loss, two sacks and three quarterback hits. He kept the pressure on Wilson throughout the game and has proven to be one of the Niners’ most successful draft picks of the last several years.
