Round 1: Nick Bosa, EDGE, Ohio State

For me, this is as close to a perfect scenario for the 49ers in many a draft. Ohio State EDGE Nick Bosa ticks all the boxes the 49ers need.

Filling the biggest need the 49ers have (need for a premier EDGE pass rusher)? Check.

Getting into the backfield regularly? Check.

No injury concerns? (Bosa’s surgery to fix a core muscle injury is not a chronic injury). Check.

It makes way too much sense, especially looking at his tape:

There may have been attempts to belittle Bosa’s achievements, or say he’s just another injury riddled prospect, but they don’t hold up.

One injury does not make one injury prone. Bosa dominated elite college teams in his tenure at Ohio State. He fits the need perfectly in the 49ers’ 4-3 lineup as well.

Sometimes the obvious choice is obvious for a reason, and I see no reason to be a contrarian for no good reason.
