50. . Linebacker. LSU. Devin White. 8. player

Linebacker isn’t exactly a top-pressing need for the Detroit Lions, but head coach Matt Patricia isn’t exactly in a position where they can be picky about landing bona fide talent.

And Detroit would have to be thrilled if LSU linebacker Devin White fell this far in Round 1.

White is the epitome of a rangy, sideline-to-sideline coverage linebacker so necessary in today’s pass-happy NFL. He’s constantly around the ball and even offers a little bit in the pass rush too — something Patricia will need to address when EDGE Ezekiel Ansah hits the free-agent market after being slapped with the franchise tag in 2018.

Sure, an outside pass-rusher is a top need for the Lions. Thankfully, there should be some good options early in Round 2, which should be where Detroit makes an EDGE selection.

Right now, it’s about grabbing the best player available.
