55. . Cornerback. Washington. Byron Murphy. 24. player

The Pittsburgh Steelers could use a bit of help in the secondary this offseason. Especially at cornerback, where Artie Burns has gone from a starter earlier this year to being just a depth and rotational player.

Pittsburgh’s first-round investment in Burns doesn’t appear to be working, so the team might as well look into this spot to find a replacement.

While he’s only 5-foot-11 and 182 pounds, Washington’s Byron Murphy would be a nice pickup here. Murphy might be more adept at nickel duties at the pro level. But the good news is he’s more than adept in recognizing routes and reacting appropriately. One of the knocks against him earlier, aside from his smallish stature, was his relative ineffectiveness in tackling against the run.

Murphy has improved on that as of late, which has propelled his draft stock towards the latter stages of Round 1.
