No. 5: Cornerback Bradley Roby

49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh prefers a certain type of cornerback in his defensive system. The prototype would be current 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman.

Current Denver Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby is four inches shorter than Sherman. But weighing the same, Roby is an eager tackler.

Taken with the 31st overall selection of the 2014 NFL Draft, Roby is a confident and fast cornerback. Running a 4.39 40-yard dash, he can keep up with the types of receivers that outpace Sherman.

Together, I believe Roby would be an excellent complement to what Sherman does. Sherman an ideal mentor for the 26 year old.

If the 49ers’ interest in Roby is directly inverse to Saleh’s job security, I will say this: More likely than not, the Niners will have interest.
