The Oakland Raiders, who owned the No. 1 overall pick, could have easily taken Ohio State EDGE Nick Bosa. Instead, they selected Michigan EDGE Rashan Gary with the top pick.

And the New York Giants, selecting at No. 2, went with a quarterback, Missouri’s Drew Lock. Not a surprise there.

With the Buffalo Bills grabbing a wide receiver, the 49ers are in perfect position to land Ohio State EDGE Nick Bosa at No. 4 overall.

Bosa is arguably the top player in this year’s NFL Draft, meaning a slip down to the fourth spot is an absolute blessing for San Francisco.

Sure, an abdominal injury and subsequent surgery has convinced Bosa to sit out the rest of 2018 and prepare for the draft. He’s supposed to be just fine in time for draft season, and there’s no doubting what kind of player he’d be on an NFL defense.

And his pass-rush skills is exactly what the Niners defense needs right now. He’s provide that excellent edge rush, bolstering the efforts of San Francisco’s interior defenders and making the entire defensive line one of the team’s strongest units heading into 2019.
