San Francisco 49ers: 5 Round 1 prospects to watch in the 2019 NFL Draft
4. Clelin Ferrell, Defensive End, Clemson
The most obvious stance regarding the 49ers is they need to take a genuine EDGE to give their defense more firepower.
I find no benefit of taking a contrarian view, I believe this as well.
Clelin Ferrell has been arguably the best performing player on a stacked Clemson defensive line, and could be just right for the 49ers defensive front.
Ferrell already has six sacks in only six games and is well on his way to breaking his college record of 9.5 sacks. He’s a frequent guest in the offensive backfield, logging eight tackles for a loss this season already.
DeForest Buckner needs a partner in crime, and Ferrell could be the man to do it, addressing the Niners’ edge-rushing needs while also landing someone perfectly competent against opponents’ rushing attacks to his side.
