No. 2: George Kittle Is the 49ers’ Best Storyline from 2018

While the Niners pass catchers haven’t been much a factor this season, at least Kyle Shanahan is getting some massive production from second-year tight end George Kittle.

Sure, Kittle had a pass ripped away from his hands that ultimately became one of C.J. Beathard’s two interceptions thrown. But aside from that, Kittle was again another awesome piece of what was otherwise a boring and ineffective San Francisco offense in Week 7.

There was Kittle’s 10-yard touchdown grab just before halftime, which ended up being the Niners’ lone end-zone score:

But what arguably even more impressive was Kittle’s 35-yard reception to help set up the touchdown. Kittle gave a stiff arm to Rams cornerback Marcus Peters while dragging another Los Angeles defender on his back.

Pretty impressive stuff right there.

Kittle had five receptions for 98 yards and that touchdown — easily the 49ers’ best offensive contributor during the game.
