49ers injury news

As has been the case for the majority of the 2018 season, the 49ers’ injury report was extensive this week. However, many players on the team’s injury report have recovered to the point where they plan to play today against the Rams.

Wide receiver Dante Pettis is the only player who was declared out of Sunday’s game on the 49ers’ final injury report. Pettis continues to miss time due to an injury to his knee.

Defensive back Jimmie Ward, who was sorely missed during the end of the game on Monday night, is doubtful to play. Update: Ward is inactive. Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon would likely take his place as the Niners’ second cornerback, however Witherspoon is questionable due to a concussion. Update: Witherspoon is inactive.

The 49ers’ top corner Richard Sherman is also questionable with a calf injury, although he’s continued to play through the injury in recent weeks. Normally, Sherman would be a lock to start on Sunday, but he missed practice on Friday after being a limited participant for the remainder of the week. Update: Sherman is inactive.

Nickel cornerback K’Waun Williams is also listed as questionable due to his ailing shoulder. Williams missed practice on Wednesday, but practiced in a limited capacity on Thursday and Friday.

Wide receiver Trent Taylor, who missed the Packers game, is officially questionable after the second-year wideout was limited in practice all week due to his ongoing back injury.

Fellow WR Pierre Garcon missed Wednesday’s practice, and was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday. Garcon is questionable for the Rams game, as he continues to work through shoulder and knee injuries.

The rest of the injured 49ers, including RB Matt Breida, WR Marquise Goodwin, TE George Kittle and the majority of the team’s offensive line, are all expected to suit up for action today.

49ers injury news will be updated throughout the day, as information is released.
