EDGE. Mississippi State. Montez Sweat. 26. player. 26.

Some mocks list Mississippi State EDGE Montez Sweat as an early second-round NFL Draft pick. After all, he has some red flags that influenced his move from Michigan State after 2015.

Keep in mind, though, the Baltimore Ravens have an increasingly aging defense, namely up front in their pass-rush department with defensive end Terrell Suggs just having turned 36 years old. It’s time for Baltimore to find a long-term replacement.

Sweat is, perhaps, the best pure pass-rusher in this year’s class. He’s athletic, has plenty of speed and plays with an incredible motor. He needs to vary his moves a bit, but Sweat’s 6-foot-6, 245-pound frame is intimidating enough.

The Ravens need some offensive help, particularly at wide receiver. But that’s a problem Baltimore can address at a later time. This is a defense-first team. Sweat would be a home-run pick.
