The San Francisco 49ers visit the Green Bay Packers in Week 6 on Monday Night Football, and Niner Noise breaks down three players critical to the Niners’ efforts.

When the 2018 NFL schedule was announced, the San Francisco 49ers‘ prime-time Week 6 bout with the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football seemed to be one of those can’t-miss games fans would have greatly anticipated.

After all, it was going to feature an up-and-coming Niners team with budding franchise quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo at the helm, going up against future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers and his always-potent Packers offense.

Well, things have sure changed.

Garoppolo is out for the year with a torn ACL, and San Francisco has stumbled out of the gate to a 1-4 record. Meanwhile, the Packers aren’t exactly tearing up the NFC North. They enter this contest with a 2-2-1 record and don’t quite look like the team many thought they’d be five weeks deep into the season.

Rodgers is banged up with a knee injury. And overall, Green Bay enters this contest with the league’s 18th-ranked scoring offense. While Rodgers has been his usual self for most of the season, the Packers ground game hasn’t been much of a factor. Green Bay’s run defense has also been suspect, which could play right into San Francisco’s plans to pull off a road win.

It will have to be an upset. According to Odds Shark, the 49ers are 9.5-point underdogs for Week 6.

For the upset to take place, a number of key Niners players will have to provide some substantial impact for the game.

So here are three whose respective impacts will have to be felt in Week 6 for San Francisco to pull off the prime-time road win and reach win No. 2 on the season.
